Fort Langley Waterfront Vision

Facilitating stakeholder workshops and design charrettes, PFS Studio worked with staff to lead the visioning exercises to determine the future of the Fort Langley waterfront and its revitalization.

The resulting planning document highlighted several principles to guide development. The findings concluded that the overall development must be sustainable, the public waterfront be accessible for all, views be protected and enhanced, wildlife and habitat values protected and enhanced, the First Nations and heritage context be respected, and community consultation help to guide development.

The workshops highlighted the community’s need for a continuous waterfront trail; new, distinctive public open spaces; improved pedestrian amenities; improved public realm design and a more varied mix of commercial, residential and community uses.
