Landscape Architecture has lost an icon this weekend, and we at PFS have lost a colleague, a mentor, and a good friend. Cornelia Oberlander, the Grande Dame of Landscape Architecture, has passed away this past weekend at 99. Our condolences go out to her family and loved ones.
She has been an inspiration to all of us, throughout our careers, and we will miss her extraordinary energy, her boundless curiosity, her profound generosity, her brilliant approach to design, and her complete and total love of nature. She was a designer of gardens and playgrounds, a city builder, a weaver of ecologies, a teacher, and a determined lobbyist. We will miss you Cornelia, rest in peace. It is much deserved.
