Bathurst Quay Common

Toronto

City of Toronto

The Bathurst Quay Common was the result of a highly collaborative process between PFS Studio, the City of Toronto, Waterfront Toronto, key stakeholders and the community.
The design of the new open space underwent review by the City of Toronto and its various departments as well as Waterfront Toronto’s Design Review Panel, members of the community, and the consultant team of the adjacent Corleck building. The diverse set of concerns and interests collected were synthesized into various options and considerations for the City to evaluate and provide direction on.
Further to the broad range of interests, Bathurst Quay Common is being developed in tandem with multiple adjacent projects with varying timelines, including the Canada Malting Silos and the Corleck Building. By working with the adjacent ‘edges’ a cohesive design that supported connectivity across the site and along the waterfront was developed. The design and the process involved for Bathurst Quay Common is a result of an extensive, iterative collaboration that ultimately led to a cohesive and connected park and a waterfront edge design that gained the support of the City, Waterfront Toronto, and the community.
