The Post’s public plaza on Georgia Street provides one of the project’s signature expressions of the reimagined Post building. A series of broad steps and seating takes advantage of the grade differential across the front of the site. These steps are embellished by a rich texturing of active water features, formal plantings, and extensive seating.
This composition creates highly usable terraces at both the upper and lower floor levels with direct interior connections. The plaza is permeable offering a variety of ways to move through it, away from Georgia Street. Dynamic lighting was carefully integrated to express the site as an attractive and inviting new gateway feature into the city’s downtown, by both day and night. Additional tree plantings, seating and public art are woven into the design to further enrich the public realm.
