his week Kelty McKinnon, partner at PFS Studio, will speak at BUILDEX Vancouver. BUILDEX Vancouver is Western Canada’s largest tradeshow and conference for the Construction, Renovation, Architecture, Interior Design and Property Management industries. With over 600 exhibits, and more than 50 educational seminars BUILDEX attracts over 13,500 attendees annually.
Kelty McKinnon, along with Leslie Van Duzer, Joyce Drohan, Steve McFarlane, and Brian Wakelin, will be discussing “The Vancouver Landscape: Ecological Urban Architecture”. As Vancouver strives to be one of the Greenest Cities in the World, the ecological evolution of our architecture is becoming of increasing importance. With more and more of the world’s population inhabiting densely populated urban areas, epicenters of nature throughout concrete jungles are of growing desire. The benefits of these areas are more than aesthetic; they support the regions eco-system and enhance the quality of life for citizens. Kelty McKinnon and the other 4 speakers will examine the importance of ecological architecture and the value it holds for our city, exploring industry success stories and expanding on the impact it will on Vancouver.
This panel will take place Thursday, February 26, from 10:30am to 12:30pm, and will cost $55.
